The Strolenbergs and Dohertys joined forces in October 2014. With Gareth’s Butchery knowledge and time managing two shops and with Greg’s ex Chef, Butcher and a manager at a local wholesale meat company the stellar two embarked on a high welfare, locally farmed meat to table mission.
Both passionate about traditional butchery the pair recognised that good food can be locally sourced and sustainable, and believe the truth is in the tasting… and it is! Low food miles means less stress for the animal and ultimately delivers a better tasting meat. With Shimpling Park Farm, Rookery Farm, Barrack Farm, Brook Farm, Grove Farm, Collett’s Farm all on board the Lavenham Butcher’s journey began.
Our Lavenham Butcher’s family consists of Greg (Master Butcher) & Jen (P R girl/Girl Friday (and anything else at the shop that needs doing), Andy and Paul our master butcher’s with many years experience, Mike our newest recruit , Andrew our onsite Pie-Maker, Michael our mid-week delivery driver.
Our Elmswell family consists of Gareth (Master butcher) and Nicola (Book keeper) Jerry ( Master Butcher & Manager) and Jack our newly qualified Butcher.
We aim to provide a great service with ample tips on how to cook, what to cook, and what else could complement your meal.
